The exact launch date for the opening remains under wraps.
Taco Bell’s first location in Malaysia will be in Cyberjaya, the company confirmed in an update from their official website.
“The exact launch date and address remain under wraps (for now),” the chain said in the update, inviting customers to sign up to their mailing list.
The Yum! Brands-owned taco chain partnered with Disruptive Concepts Restaurant Group to grow the brand in the country.
The Jakarta Post also reported that Taco Bell will be making its way to Indonesia this month.
Ankush Tuli, Taco Bell Asia-Pacific managing director, said in a statement cited by the publication that the company was "excited" to work with Indonesia’s PT Fast Food Indonesia as its franchise partner. PT Fast Food Indonesia already operates KFC in the country, a fellow Yum! Brands restaurant chain.
“The country’s strong food culture, adventurous spirit and appetite for trying new things make it an ideal market for Taco Bell,” Tuli said.
“The Indonesian consumer always craves for new and unique experiences and [by] utilizing our expertise in the fast-food retail segment, we believe that Taco Bell will be a huge success,” Hendra Yuniarto, PT Fast Food Indonesia’s general manager of marketing, added.
