BreadTalk Group CEO steps down due to ‘personal and health reasons'

He will leave the company by the year’s end.

The chief executive of Singapore-headquartered BreadTalk Group has resigned, the company has announced.

Chu will leave pan-Asian bakery and restaurant business by 31 December, and will be temporarily replaced by company founder George Quek.

“The Board would like to express its appreciation to Mr. Chu for his contribution during his tenure as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Company,” the group said in a statement.

Under Chu’s leadership, BreadTalk entered partnerships with Wu Pao Chun Bakery and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, and expanded into London and Cambodia.
