Burger King brings back ‘Tastes of Singapore' Burgers

The Double Rendang Beef and the Hainanese Chicken Tendergrill burgers are back for a limited time.

In celebration of the country’s birthday, the burger giant announced the comeback of its popular Tastes of Singapore line.

The burgers are inspired by two of the nation’s most cherished dishes; the distinctively rich-tasting rendang, and the enduring delicacy that is the Hainanese chicken rice.

“At Burger King, the rendang is accorded with the utmost admiration in the form of the Double Rendang Beef burger which delivers a hearty bite of the double flame-grilled beef patties topped with the signature rendang sauce and fresh onions that add a crunch to it and served on toasted sesame seed buns,” the company said in a statement.

The rendang recipe is also available for another of Burger King’s signatures, the Tendergrill chicken thigh patty.

“Paying tribute to the Hainanese chicken rice as one of the true blue tastes of Singapore, Burger King brings back the Hainanese Tendergrill Chicken burger. It holds a perfectly flame-grilled chicken thigh patty, generously layered in savoury ginger sauce and garlic chilli for a flavourful kick, and topped with fresh and crispy lettuce, all tucked in between toasted sesame seed buns,” the burger chain continued.

The Double Rendang Beef burger value meal and Hainanese Tendergrill Chicken burger value meal start from S$7.95 and include a medium pack of thick-cut salted French fries and a small Coca Cola Zero. They will be available for a limited time from 17 July 2018 onwards.

The Burger King combo meal for two is available at S$17.90, comprising two burgers (a choice between the Double Rendang Beef burger, the Rendang Chicken Tendergrill, or the Hainanese Chicken Tendergrill); one large pack of fries; four pieces of Mexican Drumlets; and two small cups of Coca Cola Zero.

Burger King first arrived on Singapore shores in 1982 with the opening of its first restaurant in Peninsula Plaza. Today, the brand operates 42 outlets nationwide.
