Options include an edamame and corn vegetable medley.

McDonald’s Japan announced it has updated its Happy Meal with healthier food including vegetable-centric side dishes, catering to health-conscious parents and their children.

New side offerings include yogurt, green salad and a medley of edamame soybeans and corn. Customers are allowed to build their Happy Meals around burgers, cheeseburgers, McNuggets or pancakes.

The chain’s website boasts over 300 potential combinations of main, side, and drink options from their new menu.

“We made it so that dads and moms who are primarily concerned about their kids’ growth and development can choose the perfect Happy Meal set to put their minds at ease…We’ve prepared an extensive menu for you to choose from while taking nutritional needs into account and giving children the chance to grow and develop,” McDonald’s Japan said in a statement, translated by SoraNews24.
