SaladStop! Group targets 60% plant-based protein across global outlets
The protein sourcing target forms part of the company's wider net-zero plans.
SaladStop! Group has set a target for at least 60% of the protein it sources across its global outlets to come from plant-based ingredients, earning recognition from international NGO the Lever Foundation.
The group already uses plant-based protein sources including legumes, seitan, nuts, seeds, whole grains, leafy greens, and mushrooms across its menus.
Founded in 2009, SaladStop! Group now operates more than 80 outlets across Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and other markets.
The group serves more than five million people annually.
The protein sourcing target forms part of the company's wider net-zero plans.
SaladStop! became the first restaurant group in Asia to carbon-label its entire menu in 2020 and has committed to reaching net zero across its operations by 2030.
The company said increasing the share of plant-sourced protein to 60% is intended to help reduce the carbon intensity of its food.
Plant-based proteins feature across SaladStop! Group's brands, including SaladStop!, Heybo, Wooshi, Smoosha, and FreshKitchen.
