McDonald's Korea suspends Bulgogi Burger sales

The government authorities probe in for possible food contamination.

According to Bloomberg, South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has started an investigation into the cause behind some customers taking ill after consuming food at a McDonald’s restaurant in Jeonju, located south of Seoul.

McDonald’s said it has halted sales of the bulgogi burger as a precaution till the cause of the illness is determined.

"The decision to halt the sales of bulgogi burgers is a pre-emptive action while waiting for the MFDS examination results to come out. McDonald's Korea wishes the affected customers a quick recovery," the company said in a press release.
