Marine Harvest to open 2,000 salmon-only fast food outlets in China
It believes this will help expand demand for the farmed fish among the country’s growing middle class.
According to Financial Times, the Norwegian salmon producer is hoping that availability through its restaurants as well as products sold under the same brand in retail outlets will make the fish more accesible to ordinary consumers, since salmon consumption in China tends to be limited to hotels and upmarket restaurants.
Marine Harvest currently operates five restaurants under the Supreme Salmon flag in Taiwan.
