Carl’s Jr. opens first Japan outlet in Akibahara, Tokyo

It’s the first of 150 outlets over the next decade.

According to Carl’s Jr.’s news release, a subsidiary of Mitsuuroko Group Holdings (MGHD), Carl’s Jr. Japan, will operate the restaurant, which will be located in the Akibahara area of Tokyo.

This is the first of a multi-unit development deal between Carl’s Jr. parent company CKE Restaurants Holdings and MGHD to develop 150 Carl’s Jr. outlets in Japan over the next 10 years.

Under the development deal, outlets are also scheduled to open in Azabujyuban, Odaiba, Shibuya and Roppongi.

“Japan is the largest burger market in Asia and Japanese consumers are well known for their passionate enthusiasm for quality, great tasting food,” said Ned Lyerly, President, International at CKE.

Open daily from 8 am to 9 pm, the Akihabara branch will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu items. It will also offer complimentary Wi-Fi, a refillable beverage bar, and draft beer.
