Starbucks Korea to trial paper straws

Wooden stirrers will also replace their plastic ones during the trial.

Starbucks Korea has announced that they will be testing green and white paper straws at 100 of its outlets in Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island for 2 months starting from September 10.

Having the straws approved by the Food and Drug Administration from the United States, the coffee chain aims to determine its pros and cons as well as the color that their customers prefer.

The move is part of Starbucks global initiative to eliminate its plastic straws in all of its outlets internationally by 2020.
