Jollibee phases out its Champ burgers

McDonald’s Philippines responded to the news with a cheeky ad.

Entering the new year, Jollibee in the Philippines has announced it is discontinuing its Champ burger range in all of its branches.

“Our product offerings are being reviewed regularly to meet customer demands so there’s always a chance that old Jollibee classics - including the Champ - may return in the future,” Jollibee’s online statement read.

The Filipino fast food chain also said that it is working on “big and exciting things” this year for its other burger offerings.

The following day, rival chain McDonald’s Philippines cheekily responded with an online ad of its Big Mac.

“[A] true classic never phases out,” the caption read.
