The retail company aims to have the number of their delivery outlets reach 730 by 2019.
QSR Brands and foodpanda signed a memorandum of agreement to drive profit growth by expanding KFC’s and Pizza Hut’s delivery services in Malaysia.
QSR Brands has over 1,080 KFC and Pizza Hut outlets, but only 320 branches are offering delivery services.
Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, managing director of QSR Brands, expects that the delivery outlets for KFC and Pizza Hut will grow to 480 by the end of the year and to an estimated 730 by 2019.
“This partnership with foodpanda is a progressive step towards expanding our reach by growing our delivery services across our two main quick service restaurants brands, KFC and Pizza Hut. This will provide a new revenue stream by serving not only our non-delivery outlets but also complement existing delivery outlets,” Kamil said.
Meanwhile, foodpanda’s managing director Sayantan Das says that they are thrilled to add the brands to their portfolio.
“Food delivery services have grown exponentially in Malaysia over the past 6 years and foodpanda has contributed to that growth. We are proud to add two of the biggest names in quick service restaurants in Malaysia, KFC and Pizza Hut, to our stable of over 1,900 restaurants and we hope to contribute to the growth in KFC’s and Pizza Hut’s delivery business,” Das said.
