First A&W outlet in Malaysia to shut down

The Batu Road outlet has operated for more than 50 years.

After 56 years in operation, A&W’s very first outlet in Malaysia is closing down on 15 October.

The chain’s Batu Road site opened its on 31st October 1963, making it one of the first fast food outlets to open in the country.

“In our efforts to expand further, we’ve had to say goodbye to some of our outlets and unfortunately this is one of it. However, don't fret as we have new outlets opening soon,” A&W Malaysia said in their Facebook page.

To commemorate the outlet, A&W is organising a closing event this weekend.
