First Cafe Amazon in China opens
It is the Thai chain’s tenth international market.
Thailand’s Cafe Amazon has opened its first outlet in China.
The landmark site is located at a Sinopec petrol station in Nanning of Guangxi, with plans to further expand the PTT Oil and Retail-owned coffee chain in other petrol stations across the country.
PTT Oil and Retail previously expressed plans to 20,000 branches around the world, aiming to establish itself as a top brand over the next few years through a US$1.3 billion investment.
The arrival of Cafe Amazon comes amid an increasingly competitive coffee sector, with Starbucks and Luckin Coffee trying to one-up each other through delivery.
Cafe Amazon currently operates 2,300 branches worldwide.
