JUMBO Seafood opens first outlet in South Korea
The opening brings their total restaurant network across Asia to 18.
JUMBO Group Limited announced the opening of its first franchised JUMBO Seafood restaurant in Seoul, South Korea.
Located within the Academy Plaza and situated next to Dogo Station in the upscale Gangnam district, the new restaurant occupies a total floor area of approximately 827 square metres and has a all-indoor seating capacity for 200 persons.
JUMBO says looks to leverage the frequency of tourists and “the affluent crowd in the area.”
The restaurant, which resulted from a joint venture agreement with TCI Inc., is also the sixth franchised JUMBO Seafood restaurant, joining other outlets in the cities of Bangkok, Fuzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Taipei and Taichung.
The opening brings the total number of JUMBO Seafood restaurants across Asia to 18.
“We believe that the opening will strengthen the Group’s market position in the region, especially within North Asia, as we seek to steadily expand our network of F&B outlets,” Ang Kiam Meng, Group CEO and Executive Director of JUMBO, said in a media release.
Over the next 12 months, JUMBO says it plans to introduce its NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh concept to China, at least one NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh outlet in Taiwan and one Tsui Wah Hong Kong-styled “Cha Chaan Teng” outlet in Singapore.
