Taco Bell India wants 600 stores in 10 years
The expansion will be done through master franchisee Burman Hospitality.
Taco Bell announced its plan to open 600 stores in India by 2029.
The brand, which currently has 35 outlets in India, also expects the country to become the largest market outside North America in terms of both restaurant count and revenues going forward.
With 35 outlets in India at the moment, expansion plans were timed to ride on the growing awareness of Mexican food among consumers.
"We are building one new store every 10 days. At the end of the year you will see us go past 60 stores and then we will continue to build progressively after that,” Burman Hospitality director Gaurav Burman said.
The chain currently operates in eleven Indian cities and is geared to establish its presence in 16 cities by the end of the year.
