Zoo Coffee looks to ramp up its Philippine expansion
The Korean chain recently opened their biggest store in the country so far.
Two years after its Philippine debut, Zoo Coffee says they are ready to “speed up” their expansion, planning to have an additional three new branches operating within the year.
“We want to gauge the market, and at the same time, hone our operations,” operations manager Katrina Balolan told ABS-CBN News during the launch of their third and largest branch at Ayala Vertis North.
The Korean chain opened its first Philippine branch at Alphaland Makati Place back in June 2016, followed by a café in SM Megamall the year after.
With a couple more branches planned, Balolan said they are currently in talks with Robinsons Malls and another Ayala mall. They are also planning to establish barista academy to train people, while ensuring they are “working our logistics and supply chain to make sure we can support our future stores.”
Established in 2009, Zoo Coffee has over 100 stores in South Korea and is known for adding a playful ambience to the coffee experience.
