Berjaya Food reports revenue up by 4% in Q2 FY19

The revenue growth was driven by increased same-store growth sales of Starbucks Malaysia and Brunei.

Berjaya Food, the operator of Kenny Rogers Roasters, Starbucks and Jollibean in Malaysia, has announced their Q2 financial results for FY19 with a 4% year-over-year revenue growth of RM166.6 million (US$39.8 million) from RM160.8 million (US$38.5 million).

Attributable profits also rose from RM6.2 million (US$1.4 million) last year to RM7.1 million (US$1.7 million). Post-tax profits grew to RM7.0 million from RM5.5 million.

The revenue growth was attributed to the increased same-store growth sales of their Starbucks operations in Malaysia and Brunei as well as the addition of more of the coffee chain’s stores.

“The Board believes that the renewed consumer confidence level, coupled with the Group's expansion plans, will fuel the Group's business growth. This should augur well for the Group's operations going forward,” the company said in its financial report.
