Jollibee taking legal action to protect trademark from ‘JoyRulBee' in China

A viral video revealed a Chinese outlet seemingly mimicking the Philippine chain’s bee logo and in-store design.

Jollibee Foods Corporation said that they are taking the “necessary steps” to protect their trademark rights against the ‘JoyRulBee’ fast food site in Guangxi, China.

A Filipino overseas worker has taken photos and videos of the said store and posted it on social media. The video showed the outlet has mimicked Jollibee’s logo, in-store design and menu items.

The Philippine fast food company said that the issue was already brought to their attention prior to it being spread on social media.

“Our Legal team has been taking the necessary steps in order to protect and uphold our company’s trademark rights as what is provided for under the law,” Arline Adeva, assistant vice president for brand Communications, PR and digital marketing at Jollibee, said.
