
Minor International acquires Bonchon Thailand operator
Minor International operates more than 2200 restaurants in 26 countries.
Minor International announced that it had acquired Chicken Time, an operator of more than 40 Bonchon outlets in Thailand, for THB2bn (US$66m).
The hospitality firm also revealed talks with the chicken brand’s owners in South Korea regarding its expansion plan.
“The already-lucrative portfolio of Bonchon brand in Thailand will bring us immediate revenue and earnings to further sharpen our growth trajectory,” Minor chairman and founder William E. Heinecke said in a press release.
Minor Food CEO Paul Kenny described the growth potential of the chicken market in Thailand as "enormous."
Minor International operates more than 2200 restaurants, including brands such as The Coffee Club, Dairy Queen and Burger King, in 26 countries.
