QSR Brands owners considering sale: report
The Malaysian operator currently operates more than 830 KFC restaurants and more than 470 Pizza Hut outlets in Southeast Asia.
Owners of the QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd., operator of KFC and Pizza Hut in Southeast Asia, has announced plans to sell the company after shelving earlier plans for an IPO.
Citing people knowledgeable of the matter, Bloomberg reports that QSR’s majority shareholders, which include private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, stated-own Johor Corp., and pension fund Employees Provident Fund, decided to pursue a stake sale “after weak markets led to a dearth of initial public offerings in the country.”
Unidentified sources by Bloomberg claim that advisers for the Malaysian company’s shareholders peg the company’s value at about 6 billion ringgit (US$1.4bn).
