KFC China to begin selling plant-based fried chicken
It will be sold at three outlets for a limited time.
Yum! China’s KFC will start selling plant-based fried chicken for the first time in China over a limited time period, the company announced.
The nuggets will be supplied by US-based meat producer Cargill Ltd and will be sold at three outlets in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen between 28-30 April.
KFC’s announcement is said to have garnered mixed reactions on Chinese social media platform Weibo, with some commenting that they hoped the new offering would be healthier.
