Starbucks to launch first bakery cafe in South Korea
The outlet will feature bread from its local partner.
Starbucks is opening its first bakery cafe concept in South Korea this month.
Korea Bizwire reports the outlet will be in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province that will also feature a bar that exclusively serves the coffee giant’s Teavana brand.
The new store is expected to bake fresh bread on site with dough from Shinsegae Food Inc., the food manufacturer of South Korean retail giant Shinsegae Group. The company is understood to have been outsourcing the production of the baked goods it sells at its earlier stores.
Starbucks Korea is the joint venture between Starbucks Coffee International Inc. and Shinsegae.
