Jollibee to open stores in Scotland, Kuala Lumpur
The company continues its international expansion after initially being derailed by lockdowns.
Philippine fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) announced the arrival of its namesake brand in Scotland and another store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2022.
JFC is also opening its 150th Jollibee store in Vietnam early next year, which is also home to the largest store network of the chicken brand outside the Philippines.
“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we continue to open more Jollibee stores and are glad to see the community’s support wherever we open. We look forward to bringing the joy of eating to more and more people in different parts of the world, sustaining our growth momentum as we enter 2022,” JFC chief executive Ernesto Tanmantiong said in a press statement.
Jollibee’s Scotland entry comes on the heels of its opening in Wales earlier this year.
The Kuala Lumpur restaurant, meanwhile, will be in popular destination mall Sunway Pyramid. Earlier this year, JFC formed a joint venture company to own and operate stores in West Malaysia, eyeing at least 120 new restaurants under the Jollibee brand in 10 years.
