Foodpanda Hong Kong, ImpactHK distribute care packages to homeless
This as the market recovers but the unemployment rate is still high.
To help the homeless community, foodpanda and ImpactHK launched their second partnership by donating goods which included 50 sets of essentials provided every month at the 24-hour online supermarket pandamart.
In a joint statement, foodpanda said they and ImpactHK fielded volunteers to distribute care packages to the homeless.
Provisions include bottled water, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars, packaged bread, toothbrush, and toothpaste, amongst others.
Lit Luk, New Business Director of foodpanda Hong Kong said, “At foodpanda, we share the same vision as ImpactHK to encourage a more inclusive society. We hope to show our support and care to people in need through this partnership. pandamart will coordinate and distribute the care packages to the homeless community every month. After a 6-month pilot phase, the team will further review the programme to discuss potential extensions and other ways to expand our community support efforts.”
Woody Chan, CSR & Sustainability Manager at foodpanda Hong Kong said, “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the number of homeless people in Hong Kong has unfortunately increased, and most of them feel helpless under the difficult living environment. Beyond simply providing daily essentials to the homeless, we hope to better understand the hardship they are facing and bring some positivity into their lives.”
