Starbucks Japan taps in to coffee machine leasing
It is leasing office-use machines that brew "the same coffee that is served at its outlets".
The full-scale entry in the office market is aimed at introducing java drinkers to the Starbucks’ brand as convenience stores are vying to woo customers seeking a quality cup of coffee at a low price.
Starbucks Coffee Japan's barista machines have already been used in offices of five companies. The machine can make 20 kinds of drinks, including caffe latte and caffe mocha, using Arabica coffee beans of the same quality as those used at its stores.
The machine will be leased to a business for a fee. Coffee beans and paper cups will also be available for purchase.
