Jollibee-backed Compose Coffee debuts in Taiwan
The coffee chain is set to make its Philippine launch this year.
Jollibee Group’s majority-owned coffee brand Compose Coffee has made a strong debut in Taiwan as it continues its international expansion, with the Philippines set to follow later this year.
The South Korean value-focused coffee chain attracted significant consumer demand during the pre-opening of its first Taiwanese store, signalling early traction outside its home market.
According to a press release, customers began queuing from 8:00 AM., with demand building throughout the day. At peak trading periods, the store sold approximately one cup every 20 seconds, while wait times stretched up to two hours. The outlet generated more than $2,000 (NT$70k) in sales on its first day.
Popular menu items included the iced Americano, red bean injeolmi milkshake, and dalgona latte.
Jollibee Group said the launch highlights Compose Coffee’s potential as a scalable international platform within its growing coffee portfolio.
“We are encouraged by the strong early response to Compose Coffee’s proposition in Taiwan,” said Richard Shin, CEO for Jollibee Group’s international business. “We believe the brand has unlimited potential to become a leading global brand.”
