Jollibee's plan in Malaysia: 100 stores in 10 years
Half of the stores will be in Sabah and Sarawak.
Philippine fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has laid out major expansion plans for Malaysia, seeing the opening of over 100 stores in the next 10 years.
The Borneo Post reported that half of the planned stores will be located in Sabah and Sarawak.
“We believe that we can appeal to the diversity as what we have seen in other countries where Jollibee has been successful, such as Vietnam, Brunei, Hong Kong and Singapore,” Dennis Flores, president and head of JFC International Business for Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia was quoted as saying.
JFC chairman Tony Tan Caktiong explained that the successful opening of Jollibee’s first outlet in Sabah last December encouraged them to widen their presence in Malaysia.
“This has given us an encouragement to reach more Malaysians with our delicious menu and friendly service,” Tan Caktiong said.
JFC operates 14 brands in 21 countries with over 4,500 stores worldwide, 1,300 of which are Jollibee outlets.
The company recently released their year-end results, reporting that they opened 502 stores in 2018, 23.5% sales growth and 17.1% profit growth.
