New dimsum brand Fat Tiger eyes 1,000 stores across India
The concept has already launched in four cities.
A dimsum parlour and modern tea shop concept is set to establish a mid-market offering in India, the Economic Times reports.
Called Fat Tiger, the new brand aims to introduce varieties of dimsums and momos to a population, which it claims, has only consumed them as street food, or in high-end dining.
Founded by hospitality entrepreneur Sohrab Sitaram, the concept also showcases various tea offerings such as cold iced tea topped with liquid cream cheese, crushed fresh fruit tea and dessert tea.
The concept is already operating in Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Karnal. In the future, it hopes to expand to over 1,000 stores across the country through both company-owned outlets and franchises.
"The momo and dimsum preparations take inspirations from spice levels from Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, regions of Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh," the brand said, also being influenced by Asian countries like China, Thailand, Nepal and Myanmar.
