Starbucks Malaysia opens second signing store

It is the fourth signing store of the global coffee chain.

Starbucks Malaysia recently opened its second signing store in Penang, three years since it launched its first one in Kuala Lumpur.

The three-story, 4,600 sq. ft. store features visual alarms, digital trays and point-of-sale systems with an attached customer display, specifically catering to the needs of the deaf community. The store also showcases a mural wall painted by the local deaf artist Lim Anuar.

The launch of the second signing store was celebrated with a special offer of the Vanilla Fig Frappuccino blended beverage. For every purchase, Starbucks will donate RM1 (US$0.24) to the Penang Deaf Association.

Moreover, special Starbucks cards featuring the brand in sign language is being sold in the new store.

The store is the global coffee giant’s fourth overall signing store.
