Yum China names Johnson Huang as first chief customer officer

Warton Wang, currently the company's chief development officer, will succeed Huang as general manager for KFC.

Yum China announced that Johnson Huang, currently the general manager of their KFC business, will be their first chief customer officer.

The listed company said the creation of the new leadership position is part of their strategic initiatives to “integrate customer centricity into the Company's brand-driven culture.”

Huang joined the company in 2006 and is credited for helping Yum China build an IT function and a digital infrastructure. In his new capacity, he will focus on building capabilities to better understand and serve customer needs as well as spearhead cross-functional initiatives, such as cross-brand customer loyalty programs. He will also oversee emerging brands — Lavazza, COFFii & JOY and Taco Bell — and continue to report to CEO Joey Wat.

Warton Wang, currently the company's chief development officer and a 24-year veteran, will succeed Huang as general manager for KFC.

Both appointments will be effective on May 1, 2022.
