Jollibee opens third UK restaurant in Leicester
It is also their first UK store to sell all Halal meat.
Philippine fast food giant Jollibee has opened its third UK restaurant in Leicester, part of a larger plan to open 50 stores in the country over the next three to five years.
The new Leicester restaurant has a seating capacity of 134 and is the first Jollibee in the UK to sell all Halal meat.
Upcoming stores include a flagship store launch in Leicester Square, London in the first half of 2021, followed by launches in Edinburgh, Leeds, Cardiff and other major cities across the UK.
Jollibee has previously cited the UK as a “key market” for expansion, with Brits spending €1.2 billion on quick-service chicken per year (compared to €652 million in Germany and €700 million in France), along with a growing Filipino community.
“We’re pushing forward with our continued growth plan across Europe, as we believe that both the high streets and people’s livelihoods need the support once we come out the other side of this pandemic,” said Adam Parkinson, Market Head of Europe for Jollibee.
The store is currently open for takeaway only, but expects to have deliveries and dine-in once lockdown rules are lifted.
