BreadTalk Group to delist from SGX on 5 June

It suspended trading of shares last 21 April.

BreadTalk Group is delisting from the Singapore Exchange on 5 June, following the completion of its compulsory acquisition by offeror BTG Holding.

In a filing, the company said delisting will take effect at 9am on Friday.

BTG Holding is owned by the chain’s founder George Quek, his wife Katherine Lee and Thailand-based hospitality company Minor International.

Ahead of its application to delist, BreadTalk suspended trading of its shares on 21 April.

The company previously posted a net loss of SG$5.8 million for 2019. In exchange filings earlier this year, it described operations as “challenging across key markets, including Singapore, China and Hong Kong."

Aside from the namesake bakery chain, the group also operates F&B outlets Food Republic and Toast Box.

Last March, BreadTalk cut salaries for senior management and middle-management executives, with employees taking pay cuts of between 10% and 50% per cent from March to June.
