KFC Malaysia launches new Lay’s BBQ flavoured fried chicken
The new menu comes as Malaysians mark the upcoming Merdeka celebration.
As Malaysia celebrates their Independence Day or Merdeka, KFC joined in by rolling out the new KFC X Lays Crunch BBQ flavoured chicken.
The new menu item includes a fusion of potato chips and fried chicken. The chicken is coated with special flour breading with crumbled Lay’s potato chips. It is also topped with dusted barbeque sprinkles to add smoky and savoury flavour of the chips.
“Biting into KFC x Lay’s Crunch BBQ flavoured chicken will make you feel like you’re munching chips and eating chicken at the same time - unusual but in a finger lickin’ good kind of way!” Chan May Ling, Chief Marketing Officer KFC Malaysia, said in a media release.
The KFC Bucket Bersama will also be launched for a limited time to allow Malaysians to celebrate the nation’s Merdeka.
“The KFC x Lay’s Crunch and KFC Bucket Bersama are available at all KFC Stores for a limited time only starting today. KFC x Lays Crunch is available in 2-pc Combo, 3-pc Combo, and Box Meal. Meanwhile, KFC Bucket Bersama is available in 6-pc, 10-pc, or 12-pc Combo,” read the statement.
