BreadTalk Group launches new cafe chain concept

Butter Bean will open its first site at Singapore’s Funan shopping mall.

BreadTalk Group is set to add another concept to its food and beverage portfolio, geared to reach a younger customer base.

The company announced it will open its first Butter Bean outlet at the Funan shopping mall in Singapore. The 45-seater cafe is expected to serve inch-thick toast layered with sweet or savory toppings including chicken floss and Milo chocolate powder. It will also serve traditional Singaporean coffee blended with additional ingredients such as brown sugar, whipped cream, or even salted cream foam.

“We aim to present traditional Nanyang Coffee in an engaging manner that appeals to the younger generation’s evolving lifestyle. Our outlets are also designed as a social space centred on good vibes, conversations and connection,” general manager Vincent Lim said in a statement.

Butter Bean is set to have a sophomore outlet at the VivoCity shopping mall this coming September, which will have 84 seats and an outdoor patio.

Sandwiches are also on offer, which come with proteins including battered fried fish, crispy fried chicken, and ham and cheese are also on offer for those seeking big breakfasts. Lunch or dinner items include chicken curry and prawn noodles.
