Starbucks launches Smart Lounge railway station concept in Japan
The store was done with railway operator JR East.
Starbucks Japan has launched a new concept store focussed on business use.
Done in collaboration with railway operator JR East, the “Starbucks Coffee Takanawa Gateway Station” features semi-private and single-seat seats to meet the needs of using a cafe for work as well as a large table used for meetings with multiple people.
There are two fully-private booth-style share offices within the store, with power outlets available for all seats. Aside from Wi-Fi, the store also operates a mobile battery sharing service.
The concept also utilises cashless payments such as Starbucks Card and Suica. Customers can also settle orders in advance and receive products through a dedicated app.
Takanawa Gateway Station is located in Shinagawa town.
