McDonald’s Singapore, FAS hold football clinic ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™

FAS-accredited coaches led football drills and interactive activities.

McDonald’s Singapore and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) held a football clinic titled “Happy Kicks, Happy Kids” at the Lion City Sailors Training Centre as part of FIFA World Cup™ 26 season activities.

The event, organised with the Centre for Fathering and Families for Life Council under the National Family Festival, gathered more than 100 children and parents for a day of football, family bonding, and active play.

Participants were given rare access to a professional training environment, where FAS-accredited coaches led football drills and interactive carnival-style stations designed to encourage parent-child engagement through play.

The clinic was attended by Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong, Patron of the Centre for Fathering, who joined in activities and showed support for the community initiative.

Adding to the experience, Singapore national team players Farhanah Ruhaizat, Dhaniyah Qasimah, and Shahdan Sulaiman made special appearances, engaging with young participants and inspiring budding footballers on the pitch.

For many families, it was their first time receiving coaching on a professional football field, creating a shared experience that combined sport, learning, and quality family time.

''Happy Kicks, Happy Kids' reflects that belief - bringing families closer through the joy of football, play, and togetherness,” said Lee May Yin, managing director of McDonald’s Singapore. 

"Football is a game enjoyed by many, but seeing fathers out there, being present and running alongside their children, is what DADs for Life hopes to see more of in Singapore," added Yuen Chee Onn, chief advocate of Centre for Fathering. "These moments of shared play are where bonds are quietly strengthened, and where children learn that their fathers show up, not just at milestones, but on an ordinary Saturday morning."

Families explored multiple activity zones filled with games and interactive experiences, with each participant receiving exclusive merchandise including a McDonald’s football jersey and a FIFA collectible cup. The event ended with a shared meal featuring McDonald’s food.
