Tim Ho Wan to shut first Singapore outlet after 13 years

The closure comes ahead of Plaza Singapura’s $160m upgrade.

Hong Kong dim sum chain Tim Ho Wan will close its Plaza Singapura outlet on 12 July, ending its 13-year run ahead of the mall’s planned redevelopment.

The outlet was the chain’s first location in Singapore when it opened in 2013.

Tim Ho Wan said in an Instagram post that the closure is linked to redevelopment works at Plaza Singapura.

The upgrade is part of CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust’s $160m asset enhancement initiative for the mall, along with The Atrium@Orchard.

The works are scheduled to run from the third quarter of 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2028, with both properties remaining operational.

The Tim Ho Wan outlet will operate until 5 p.m. on its final day. The company did not announce whether the outlet will be relocated.
