Shakey's opens first Singapore store
The chain is focused on delivering “sustainable long-term growth.”
Philippine pizza chain Shakey's opened its first outlet in Singapore earlier this month, part of a 7-year franchise agreement with local food court operator Brenrich Pte. Ltd.
The chain’s Singapore menu includes bestsellers such as the Shakey’s Special, Manager’s Choice, and Friday’s Special, which will be made available for delivery “soon.”
“As we continue to scale up our store network, we hope that this will serve as a springboard for international growth,” Shakeys Pizza Asia Ventures president and chief executive officer Vicente Gregorio said in a regulatory filing.
To date, Shakey’s has five international stores, four of which are in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In 2021, the company resumed its store network expansion program, opening more than 30 stores nationwide and an international store in the UAE.
“The operating environment for the past two years has been tough. We had to make strategic pivots to turn the business around, but all the while, we kept our eyes on the prize – sustainable long-term growth,” Gregorio noted.
The restaurant company and its subsidiary Wow Brand Holdings recently announced the acquisition of the assets and intellectual property of Potato Corner, including shares in an entity in Singapore.
