
Singapore's F&B sector sales rise to SG$898m
Fast food outlets led a relatively aggressive sales growth as it rose by 12.4% year-on-year in November last year.
Singapore’s food and beverage sector posted a 5.5% year-on-year increase to SG$898m on overall sales in November 2019, compared to SG$851m in the previous year, based on the country's statistics department.
The said sector sales also went up 2.3% in the same period over the previous month on a seasonally adjusted basis.
Amongst the F&B industries, fast food outlets led a relatively aggressive sales growth as it rose by 12.4% year-on-year in November last year, followed by restaurants, up by 6.4%.
Sales of cafes, food courts and other eating places also picked up by 3.1%, whilst food caterers’ sales increased by 1%.
Meanwhile, food retailers sales slowed down by 1.2% year-on-year in the same period.
