Deliveroo Hong Kong to double delivery-only footprint
The company expects the move to create over 200 jobs.
Deliveroo announced it is looking to double its footprint of delivery-only kitchens across Hong Kong before the end of the year, starting with an upcoming site in Tuen Mun.
The recently-listed food delivery firm currently has four locations of this kind, referred to as Editions sites, located in Sai Ying Pun, Wanchai, Quarry Bay and Kowloon Bay.
The upcoming kitchen sites are expected to bring over 200 job opportunities in Hong Kong by the end of this year, Deliveroo said.
Located on the Ground Floor of 4 Kin Fung Circuit, Tuen Mun Editions will host six kitchens within its space of over 3,069 sq ft inside the Cozi Resort Hotel, aimed to reach nearly half a million local residents. Restaurant partners include Shake Shack, Wing Nin Noodle, Pirata Group’s Pici and Pizza Project.
“Bringing Editions to Tuen Mun gives restaurant-goers more variety in food choices, without having to travel all the way to Kowloon or Hong Kong Island. With Editions, our partners don’t have to worry about setting up shop independently in new geographical areas. Following the impact of COVID-19 on the F&B industry, we have seen an explosion of interest in the Editions operating model from our partners,” said Brian Lo, Deliveroo Hong Kong general manager.
Support initiatives in Singapore
Deliveroo also introduced additional support initiatives to help its customers, riders and restaurant partners during Singapore’s Phase Two (Heightened Alert) period.
The company said it will offer a one-month free trial of Deliveroo Plus, its subscription membership plan, whilst existing Deliveroo Plus customers can enjoy unlimited free delivery on orders above S$18 and exclusive discounts.
