Deliveroo Singapore launches new tipping function

The platform will also match the first 10,000 tips.

Deliveroo Singapore has launched a new tipping function to their app, allowing customers to opt in to add a tip to their order by nominating an amount to add to their bill.

The delivery platform said the amount will go directly to the restaurant in full and will not be subject to any commission.

Deliveroo will match the first 10,000 customer tips until 1 June, up to a total combined sum of SG$30,000, whichever goes first.

Prior to the tipping functionality launch, Deliveroo published its guidance on how restaurants can run delivery-only and takeaway outlets safely, covering issues such as minimising contact, advice on packaging and hygiene best practices.

The company said it also developed online marketing tools for restaurants and had introduced a new weekly payment service to boost revenues for its restaurant partners.
