Pizza Hut Korea introduces pizza-serving robot

The pizza brand is running a two-week trial of Dilly Plate.

Yonhap News Agency reported that Pizza Hut Korea is running a test operation of a robot to serve food to customers as the company moves to strengthen its competitiveness with cutting-edge technologies.

Dubbed Dilly Plate, the robot was unveiled at one of its stores in western Seoul for a two-week test run, marking the first case of a restaurant brand adopting automation technology in the country’s dining industry. Developed by Woowa Brothers Corp., a South Korean startup that operates the food delivery app Baedal Minjok, the robot can autonomously serve dishes up to 22 kilograms at once.
