Chick-fil-A targets Singapore youth isolation crisis
US fast food giant tackles teen social withdrawal through its CSR programme.
Chick-fil-A has presented a grant worth $132.42k (SG$170k) to local social service agency Fei Yue Community Services as part of the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards for 2026.
The True Inspiration Awards program, established in 2015 to honour Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, provides annual grants to recognise and support nonprofit organisations making a meaningful impact in their local communities. Grants range from $30k to $350k, with a total of $6m awarded in 2025 to organisations across the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
The grant marks the first time in Singapore, following the brand’s opening last year in Bugis+.
The funding will support Fei Yue's Hidden Youth Outreach Services (HYOS), a program dedicated to reaching and reintegrating socially withdrawn youth, often referred to as “hidden youth,” by reconnecting them with school, vocational training, and employment pathways.
Leveraging Fei Yue’s experience of supporting hidden youth in Singapore over the past three years, the grant will strengthen upstream efforts to reach youth before social withdrawal happens. Designed to complement existing networks of support, the service will lower barriers to help-seeking and enable early intervention through a mix of online and in-person touchpoints, helping more young people access timely guidance and care.
Chick-fil-A is one of the largest restaurant chains in the US with over 3,000 restaurants. As part of its international expansion plans, it alloted $75m to expand in Asia over the course of 10 years.
