Five Guys will be opening its first restaurant in South Korea in June.
The brand has partnered with Hanwha Group’s retail arm Hanwha Galleria to open the first store in southern Seoul. The upcoming opening will be the sixth launch for the brand in Asia.
Located at the bustling Gangnam Station area, the restaurant will be in a two-story building with a total of 150 seats at a 618-square-metre site.
Hanwha Galleria said hiring has already begun, with workers to receive cooking and service training in Hong Kong for six weeks. The company said it also plans to open 15 more restaurants across the country in the next five years.
The launch of Five Guys is led by Kim Dong-seon, head of business strategy at Hanwha Galleria and the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn.
The Hanwha Group is one of the biggest business enterprises in South Korea.
