Japan fastfood unagi chain Unatoto opens first branch in Singapore

The chain is known as the only fastfood unagi chain in Japan.

Japanese fast-casual unagi chain Unatoto will be opening its first branch in Singapore this 25 January.

The restaurant will open at the Guaco Tower, Tanjong Pagar. 

Unatoto’s menu includes its best seller the Unagi Don at S$9.50 and its upside version the Unadon Double which cost around S$14.50 and comprises of two thick slabs of unagi, grilled over a binchotan, a type of charcoal considered the best type of charcoal by chefs around the world. The unagi is glazed with Unatoto’s signature honjozo soy sauce on rice.

Unagi, which is a Japanese word for freshwater eel, is a staple food in Japan often grilled in a style called kabayaki.
