Subway enters Mongolia
The brand eyes opening 50 restaurants in the next 10 years.
Subway opened its first restaurant in the capital of Mongolia after it signed a master franchisee agreement with Juulchin LLC, a subsidiary of Tavan Bogd Group.
Established in 1995, Tavan Bogd Group is a Mongolian conglomerate with interest across several industries, including manufacturing and financial services, as well as restaurant, tourism and hospitality. It owns and operates other QSR brands like Pizza Hut and KFC.
The expansion is part of Subway’s plans to grow its network of restaurants by an additional 25% in the next five years.
“Asia-Pacific is an important region for our international expansion efforts, with untapped markets and increasing consumer demand for Subway. The potential for growth is substantial,” said John Chidsey, CEO of Subway.
