CHAGEE launches new English Breakfast Tea blend in partnership with Tate
The new tea flavour is inspired by a British art collection.
CHAGEE unveiled the new Apple English Breakfast Tea in partnership with UK cultural institution Tate.
The new limited-time offering is inspired by three still-life artworks from the Tate collection that aim to highlight the story of tea, apples, and art.
The tea blend uses five teas: Assam from India, which is full-bodied and malty; Lapsang Souchong from Wuyishan, Fujian, which adds a pine-smoked flavour; Yunnan Golden Pekoe, which is rich and smooth; Four Seasons Spring from Taiwan, which is floral; and Highland Qilan from Fujian, which has an orchid scent. Each tea is roasted and processed separately, then combined under controlled temperature and humidity.
The apple is Red Fuji, sourced from Shandong, China. It is processed through whole-fruit cold extraction, skin and flesh together, with no added water, sugar, or preservatives. The juice is then absorbed into the tea leaves using a low-temperature infusion process, followed by vacuum drying to lock in its flavour.
Meanwhile, the new merchandise is inspired by Tate's art collection, such as Henri Fantin-Latour, A Plate of Apples, 1861 © Tate, a still life that shows the artist’s careful attention to composition and detail, capturing everyday objects with naturalistic precision.
In Paul Cézanne, Still Life with Water Jug, c.1892–3 © Tate, Cézanne paints the same objects repeatedly, experimenting with perspective to show multiple viewpoints at once. The result is an unfinished, meditative study of form, colour, and perception.
Meanwhile, Mark Gertler’s The Basket of Fruit, 1925 © Tate demonstrates his vibrant use of colour and composition. The painting combines precise observation with a bold, expressive style, reflecting the artistic currents of early 20th-century Britain. Together, the three show how a single familiar object can be seen in entirely different ways depending on who is looking, and when.
The artworks appear across the full range of limited-edition packaging, including cups and insulated carrier bags, as well as a curated collection of merchandise. Each piece is designed to carry the artworks into daily life, making them something to hold, use, and keep.
The new drinks are available in CHAGEE in select countries in Asia Pacific such as the Philippines and Singapore.
