KFC Malaysia introduces its first streetwear collection
The collection pays homage to the chicken chain’s heritage in the country.
KFC Malaysia collaborated with home-grown streetwear brand , Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC) for the limited edition “11 Finger Lickin’ Good Goods” that will be released on 5 September.
The streetwear collection that pays homage to KFC’s heritage in Malaysia comprises of 11 items.
The brand said that using Malaysia’s art style and local lingo, PMC “interpreted KFC Malaysia’s origins on apparel and gave it a contemporary streetwear twist”.
Angelina Villanueva, chief marketing officer of KFC Malaysia, said the brand wanted to do “something out of the ordinary” this National Malaysia Month.
“With the rise in streetwear trend, the idea of a collaboration with Pestle & Mortar Clothing, popular home-grown pioneers in streetwear fashion known for championing South East Asian art style, was spot on. The result is a collection that creatively highlights the brand’s heritage and the common connections that KFC has built with Malaysians since 1973. Inspired by Malaysians, made by Malaysians for Malaysians," she explained.
All proceeds from the collection will go Add Hope Malaysia – KFC’s global corporate social responsibility initiative to end hunger.
The collection will be released at Major Drop, Sunway Pyramid and online at pestlemortarclothing.com.
