IKEA JP unveils all-black “Ninja” hotdog

It's infused with edible bamboo charcoal.

Feeding right into the Japanese craze of all-black fast-food, IKEA Japan has unveiled an all-black hotdog sandwich called the Ninja Dog.

According to their website, IKEA Japan’s newest menu addition is intended to look like a “ninja scroll.”

The 30 cm-long sausage sits on 20 cm bun. The deep-black colour is thanks to an infusion of edible bamboo charcoal, which IKEA Japan asserts “is said to have detox properties.”

Consumers need only to fork over JPY 300 for the sandwich, and another JPY5 50 if they want a beverage alongside it.

IKEA Japan is making the Ninja Dog available for the rest of 2016.
