Jollibee introduces chicken sandwich to U.S., Canada restaurants

The brand hopes to find success in the competitive food category.

Jollibee has decided to launch its own take on the popular chicken sandwich, available across restaurants in the U.S. and Canada.

The Original Jollibee Chickenwich showcases a slow-marinated double hand-breaded chicken breast fillet, spread with umami mayo and served on a toasted brioche bun. A spicy version is also available, featuring sriracha mayo and served with fresh jalapeños.

The fast food chain’s U.S. operator is promoting the item with a campaign that sees fictional lawyer Chris P. Poultry fighting for “chicken sandwich justice.”

"With the launch of the Jollibee Chickenwich, we want everyone to experience just how delicious we feel a chicken sandwich is meant to be," said Luis Velasco, senior vice president and marketing head for Honeybee Foods Corporation dba Jollibee.

Jollibee Foods Corporation currently has over 5,800 stores globally.
